Princess Diana, also fondly called as princess Di was the youngest daughter of Edward John Spencer, Viscount Althorp, later John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, and his first wife, Frances Spencer, Viscountess Althorp. Born on 1st July 1961, Diana remained a public figure and a much loved princess by people all over the world till her death on 31st August 1997.
A focus of world media and paparazzi since her engagement to Prince Charles, Diana played the role of a famous and loved celebrity due to her kindness to poor and her ceaseless efforts for them. She was so popular that after her death, she came to be known as ‘People’s Princesses’.

Christened as Diana Spencer, she got her early education from Silfield School in Kings Lynn, Norfolk; her birth place. Later on she went to Riddlesworth Hall in Norfolk and at West Heath Girls' School, now known as the New School at West Heath. For her education, it came to be known that although she was not a brilliant student; she failed her O-levels twice; she was an admired girl. Later on, Diana was sent to a finishing school in Rougemont, Switzerland.
Diana was born into a noble family and received her title of Lady in inheritance. However, she acquired the title of Princess through her marriage to Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne in 29 July 1981.

The wedding of Prince Charles and Diana was a memorable event in the history of Britain. Thousands turned up to watch her and prince, tie the knot, while millions watched the ceremony over their television screens. Diana and Charles had 17 years of marriage in which they had two boys namely Prince William and Prince Harry.

However, the marriage fell apart due to various reasons, one of them as it is termed as falling out of love. Charles resumed his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, with whom he was having an affair even before he got married to Diana. On the other hand, Princess Diana also had affairs with several men among which her riding instruction and Dodi Al Fayyad top the list. Due to these and various other problems, Charles and Diana decided to part their ways and their divorce was finalized on 28th August 1996.
Nonetheless, Diana was allowed to keep her title of Princess of Wales and she remained the member of royal family, being the mother of Prince Harry and Williams. In spite of all the royal attention and her status, Diana was a simple and kindhearted woman. She lived her life for the poor and visited various countries and areas to help poor and diseased. Her title ‘queen of humanity’ says it all. She went together with Mother Teresa, the renowned social worker of India and worked a great deal for AIDS patients.

Princess Diana was very serious when she took her role as patron of the English National Ballet, the Leprosy Mission and the British AIDS Help. Along with this, she was the president of the children's hospital Great Ormond Street and the Royal Marsden Hospital where she proved herself to be the patron of humanity too. Even after her death, she is as famous and remembered as a public figure who worked for the public.
Princess Diana’s biography is not complete if her love for children, poor and hungry is not mentioned. Diana never visited any place without a cause. Whether it was to collect funds for children or diseased, she took her duties very seriously and tried her best to bring the world out of its problems and troubles.
